Our client is growing and they need to add a Controls Engineer to their staff who will support the maintenance and reliability of all controls software and hardware for production equipment. This is a top notch wood products company centrally located between Green Bay, Wausau and Appleton. It is a well-established, stable and privately held company. It is an excellent place to build a career. You will report to the Production Control Manager and work on control systems, upgrades and plant expansions.
Requirements:
BS in Electrical Engineering and 5
years' experience in the development of controls and electromechanical systems for industrial equipment
Technically competent in capital equipment industrial control systems and design of P&ID schematics, control panels, PLCs (AB and GE) programming
Experience with AB Panel View, variable frequency drives, PID controllers, hardwired control logic, motion controller programming and burner combustion controls
National Fire Protection Association/National Electrical Code (NFPA/NEC)
Must be able to communicate effectively and manage several projects at one time.
Solid computer skills with Microsoft Office, including Word and Excel. Experience with AutoCAD and Wonderware is very helpful
Must be self-driven and motivated to work with minimal direction and supervision
Duties
Act as the resident expert on all PLC software issues
Assist managers, maintenance and operators as needed to reduce downtime of equipment, complete projects and improve the process
Lead the effort to use machine controls for increased efficiency, tracking, and ease of operation and trouble shooting
Assist with the start-up of all capital projects within the company related to machine controls
Train and assist other maintenance technicians with PLC trouble shooting and programming skills
Stay current with the latest control methods on the market and keeps plant aware of cost savings equipment and projects
Document all changes to machine software and ensures all software change procedures are followed
Ensure electrical drawings are accurate and updated; creates drawings if necessary
Configure starts up and support AC/DC drives and servo systems
The company offers a competitive salary, bonus potential and a comprehensive benefit package. They also offer a relocation package if needed.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
